Law and Economy is one of leading journals of business theory and practice. As a continuation of journal Handbook of Business Law which has been published since 1963. Law and Economy was first published in 1993. The Law and Economy journal filled a large gap that existed in the absence of a journal that would deal exclusively with business law topics.

The journal publishes papers from various thematic areas of business and other related branches of law, such as company law, commercial law, securities law, bankruptcy law, competition law, intellectual property law, international trade law, arbitration law, corporate governance, contract law, civil procedure law, tax law, etc. Journal publishes original scientific papers, critical analyses, comments on court decisions and book reviews are published. From 2020, the journal is published in electronic form (eISSN 2683-5592), and all the papers are available free of charge immediately after the issue is published.
